Teaching activities

Over the past almost ten years I was holding various courses from the lecture over the practical exercise to the seminaire.

• I designed an entire two semester lecture on the basics of informatics that I held in 2003/ 2004.
• I created the best attended practical exercise at the university of Tübingen as well as of the Technische Universität München.
• I did the conceptual design of the exercise to a one semester bachelor course about computer networks and distributed systems that is used at two universities.
• I created several final exams for lectures.

Technische Universität München

Since April 2008 I am a scientific staff member at the chair for computer architectures and services of Prof. Georg Carle.

I successfully established the iLab, a practical exercise, at the Technische Universität München.
In summer term 2009 42(!) students were participating this optional practical exercise.
It is by far the most attended practical exercise at the informatics department of the Technische Universität.

I am currently doing the conceptual design of a entirely new practical exercise which is called "ilab2".
While the iLab covers the basics of computer networks for the bachelor level, the iLab² will provide deep insight into well chosen computer network topics.
The exercise will be first held in summer term 2010.

Universität Tübingen

From 2004-2006, I did the conceptual design of a new form of practical exercise that is entirely web based, and therefore highly efficient. The Internetpraktikum is the most attended practical exercise at the computer science department of the Universität Tübingen.
Until 2009 more than 300(!) students attended this course!
